We always do Bible reading and prayer with our children at bedtime. For the past year we’ve been including congregational needs in our family prayer time – health, jobs, other needs. We want our children to develop compassion for people around them and want this church to be more than just Daddy’s job, but our family ministry.

A couple of weeks ago one of our deacons stopped by urgent care for a cold and in a matter of hours was diagnosed with lymphoma. It shocked us all and rocked his family. We have been praying for him every day since and last night Principesa’s prayer stopped me in my tracks:

God, help Mr. B to get better quickly, even faster than all the doctors say. Help his family not to be scared and to trust you to take care of their dad because you are the one true God.

Amen and amen.
